Got my Annual State Park/Beach Pass in the mail today. Decided if I was gonna be boatless for a while, I ought to get the pass to open up about 5 miles of local beaches to more free parking, as well as countless others up and down the coast.
Took Alicia along and I poked around a half mile stretch. I first brought out my new Ultegra 14000 XSE and Tiralejo 11' 3-6oz rod for some practice casting with 6oz. Pretty stiff wind in my face and a low tide so I was hardly enthused to actually fish. Got acquainted with that gear a bit, then put it down and walked for a bit just to see where the holes are to come to for a higher tide. Found a few and noted them, though the rest of the week's evening tides don't look like they will fill them in well.

Went back to the car and switched the big stick for my also new Shimano Technium 9' 3/8-1oz. I would recommend it to ya'll but they may or may not be out of stock for a while. Cool new lineup though. Casted a jerkbait around for a bit but didn't find anything.
Alicia wanted to trade photo shoots.

It'll take about 18 trips to pay off the pass at the local winter admission rates. Gonna see if I can't make that by the new year, between short light tackle sessions and some sharking sessions.
Gotta love SoCal, shorts and T-shirts in November 8)
That's a hell of a rod!
Bravo boss. I'm looking forward to seeing what you catch on it.
Also, I'm totally about the passes. I never would have thought my annual parking pass at the puddles would pay for itself, but I've already tripled my money back!
