after thinking about it a little more. Have you done aleak down test. we just went through this with my brothers 200 evinrude. He thought he had it running but same thing as yours. My mechanic buddy said its probably got a bad cylinder or two. compression checks will look ok, but the leak down test will show the bad cylinder. anyhow he didn't do that and we melted that thing down at the river. BADDD

Nice tom, I can't do the cattle boats either. i would rather cach no fish than dealt with it. spoiled yes. but the relaxation that fishing is supposed to be about is way better.
