If you're still looking for Mack's, I heard they're thick at shelter island these last few days.

That's exactly why I wanted to go out. Saw mikes post and immediately I wanted to get back into shark fishing. Next time around, we'll definitely be more prepared. Great night and I'm glad we were both able to hook onto some sharks by the end! Anyone need Mack's, hit me up! Lol.

Awesome. I'm not done yet, and we still have a long way to go! My measuring tape should be coming in soon, so I won't have any problems.

I just realized I didn't tape my huge Leo. Does that mean it doesn't count for the Leo charts? I'm 5'7" the Leo was roughly 62inches. :/

Super long post. Had to take care of some things in the am and after I was done, I have a handful of time before work. Hit up the homie around noon and he asked me when's the next time I'm fishing. I wasn't sure but made a the call then and there that I was going to go get bait. On the way to shelter, I asked him if he wanted to try the jetty. We got there and fished for about an hour. Actually got to the jetty around 11. Threw out a ray pole and then Mack pole. No bites on the Mack pole so I switched t to drop shot. No bites on that either. My big pole was having critter bites and it had one nice bite, but no sticks. We decided to move to shelter. I tried the beginning of the pier hoping for Hali's on the drop shot but no bites. Second cast in I had the cut end of a line. I was like what the heck, I'll pull this thing out. After 3-4 tries, I get the line good enough and I pull up one of those Walmart Hali rigs and there's a stingray on the end! Lol I wonder why it snapped off. We move to the middle of the pier and my friend hooks onto 18 inch Hali give or take an inch. Released it of course. Right when I was ready to call it because no one and I mean no one was catching any Mack's around 2. I wanted to beat traffic and take a nap before work. As soon as I cut my line, the person next to me pulls in a Mack. I quickly tie again and soon enough fish on. We ended up fishing till 330 and had at least 40-50 Mack's easy, ohh also probably my pb jack smelt. I had three hooks and most the time it was 2-3 Mack's on the other end. We left while the bite was still hot because I had to be at work by 4. I hit up Kam_Walsh98 and my same friend during work and asked them if they wanted to shark last night. They said yes. My friend and I arrived on the beach around 12. Not too much seaweed and not that much rip current. Set up two poles and then set up the chum. Soon enough I get a nice size Leo. This thing had some beautiful patterns to it. My friend gets a thorn back. While I was casting out my friends pole, my pole is going off, and I mean going off! I'm waist deep walking back and my friends freaking out. Not too much experienced with conventional so he didn't want to pick it up. By the time I get to my pole it has less than a quarter of my line. I pick it up and as I'm about to set the hook, I snaps. I was so pissed. I was cussing yellling. Kam arrives literally right after this happened. I wiped off my shoulders and told myself that's fishing. Kam hooks onto the last fish of the night. It's a fat preggo batray with at least a 50-60 wing span. This thing was huge! He said it almost spoiled him. Going to try and get the pictures for that one. Salad was kinda bad, but manageable. As we were calling it at 335 am, the water looked even more fishier. Sad to leave when conditions were getting better. Sorry for the long post. Until next time guys. Tight lines. My friends working on a fishing video of the whole day. When it's ready, I'll post it up.
