Welcome. Everybody loves kitties around here. No matter the size they are tough fighters.

Jim

Yeah they've been a lot of fun. I feel like I'm ready to 'graduate' though lol.

Hey, welcome aboard bro, glad you finally found the "real" surf fishing site. The knowledge you can pick up from these guys and on here is invaluable stuff when it comes to sharkin...😉

Thanks Joe! The real surf fishing site, love it lol. Can't wait to dig into this site a bit more!

Salt Water Shore Fishing Reports / SM Leo's

Hello everyone, first post! I've been lurking around from time to time and decided I'd join now as I'm starting to get quite the itch for shark fishing! LoncastJoe had mentioned the forum so I decided to make an account. I moved to Santa Monica in June 2016 and have done a lot of fishing on the lighter gear.

I haven't had the pleasure of catching anything other than bats, guitar fish and leo's yet as far as big game goes, so I'm looking to step it up here pretty soon!

Here's a few that me and my son caught today and day before yesterday:

Probably my heaviest so far (didn't have a tape)

I threw a drop shot on the other pole and told my son to watch mine. Within 2 casts on the drop shot he was on with my pole. Set the drag after a nice run and he was on. He landed it after about 10 minutes and was pumped! This was his first (other than little babies).

and here was my PB (length wise) from two days ago (48"):
