Great Job DAD! Thats the kinna sh!t we wished we had grew up on! I lived a sketchy sea life fishing makos on a small 18' Glaspar in the 80's longlineing them before permits were needed and since been outlawed but as a fisherman you are always legal to carry a firearm. I always dispatched makos boatside with a .22 hollow point to the spine triangularly back from the eyes. Larger specimens might need a .30 carbine but knocking out the spine turns them off. Gills are Very sensitive on sharks and hitting them can turn their nerves back on as i have had 2 hr dead sharks light up when trimming them for Market. Those critters are spun up tight and shouldn't even cook them for 24hrs as the meat will twitch and not cook right. Pop em in the spine tailrope and gut has always worked for me. Fresher ones I put a bucket over their head and secure tight to their tail with the tail rope.

Yep Ben....  That's pretty damn awesome!  Those are some killer catches!

I got interviewed by a California reporter when I first started Prehistoric Soul and was asked what state had the best fishing.  I think he thought I was going to say California, but I said Florida because It really is impossible to get skunked, even if you fish with a spinning reel upside down.  lol

Keep the pics and the posts coming!
I concur although Virginia was pretty cool too on the FW scene I only had a little bit of time in each state and Many Many moons ago before google GPS and the internet.
So. California is probably one of the worst FW areas and why most of my fishing life was dedicated to Ocean fishing but I am working on helping the lake I work at now be more productive and gaining support both from locals and the people I work for.
After I have gained a bit more local Data and get with the inland waters biologist in Fresno for DFW I will be proposing a more viable fisheries management plan to the Parks committee up here to cull more crappie than current 'lake' take permits which is far below state regs and stunting our Bass and bluegill production.

Killing it Dude love seeing all that stuff I missed out on. Coolest catch I had in Florida FW was a black Oscar on topwater brokenback rapala

Holy crap we started this sh!t when I was 40 and I'm 54 now and feeling guilty for not fishing it...the past 4 years... Have to work tomorrow new job and new boss needs me to fill in for the flake she hired. Give em Hell and take lots of pictures. I found some on my facebook page the rest are being held captive in dead computers and held hostage in photobucket.

https://tvrpd.org/parks-facilities/brite-lake We should have a trout plant this week and the bass and crappie fishing is starting to pick up just off the 202 in Tehachapi. Tent camping and overnight fishing $26 Partial hook ups 30 amp A/C and water $31 $5 day use to sunset parking fishing is free with license we do limit to 5 fish take. We do have Very limited full hook up spots for $41 a night book early for pavilion events and group camping.

I have been hired as 1 of the 2 new Lake specialist taking reservations for camping at the lake. I am working with the also new Camp hosts trying to create a place where fisherman can have fun within reason of course 24/7 and working on catfish plants but there are some big cats in the lake and Kayaks are permitted to fish until sunset but nobody can see kayaks at night so at your own risk at that point there is no on water lake patrol. No gas motors the lake isn't big but big enough for good brood stock year round and well away from the crazy city life. They try to enforce a 5 fish limit to prevent overfishing.
