Nice job! That beach looks pretty empty too.

Please make sure that in the pursuit for a great photo that if you plan to release the fish you get it back in the water ASAP.

That area near Long Beach is good for batrays but not too many soupies or 7gill. Probably can find a Leo or two. Great halibut fishing too, mostly shorts tho.

Yeah, I still fish but I haven't done the long rod thing for a while. Mostly light rodding and getting the walk in. Doesn't seem like many shark postings on here anymore, wondering if the the sharks are MIA?

You call them "a poor man's yellowtail", I call them good eats! (White fish)

I was able to do a little surf fishing last night and it was good to put the gear back into action. Fished from 8-11pm with the incoming tide. The conditions were amazing there was no salad, strong current or big waves. Unfortunately, there were no grinners either.  The water was still a little cold which is odd for the late spring season, the bioluminescence on the crashing waves is pretty amazing. I wonder if we are going to have the same level of algae growth we had last year? Bait was coming back missing or picked clean, so lots of small critters out there. I should bring the small stick, but I'm just too lazy to carry two rods.  Hopefully I can put one on the board soon.

Congrats on the PB! That's a big one for sure.

I saw the full day boat counts drop from last week. I was expecting to read that you ran into some YFT. At least the conditions cleared up.

Glad you got the skunk buster! I'm surprised that ranger even bothers getting out of the truck. He should know all of the regulars. Must have been bored.

Just light line fishing. Lots of small kelp in the water. The current has been pulling pretty good the last couple of days too.
