Wow, this warm weather has everyone forgetting it is not the summer anymore.  Sasquatch was swarmed with people this weekend and could barely get any fishing done.  I have not got any word of hammerheads on the beach lately, but I need to get out there to try.  Hopefully we get a change in weather to keep the people off the beach so we could get some beach time in.  I'm thinking it will take the time change to really open up some surf fishing as most people migrate back to their residence in the dark...

I'm ready for some big game surf fish!  I wish we had empty beaches like the VC, but damn... the tourists are still here!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I don't get the whole beach crowd thing.  Even if I'm not fishing, when it's crowded I go the opposite way.  Everyone likes to be bunched up together which makes no sense to me. I find it to be irritating. .

I toyed with the idea of hitting the sand Saturday night. About 6 I looked at the surf report/forecast/beach cams and there were swarms of folks everywhere.

What is with VC that the beaches are so empty?

Less people out there in general. Some vc beaches are fairly  crowded and some arent. Some hidden spots too that most don't know about.  I need to make a trip soon.

Probably more of the same this weekend. Tides are favorable with high about 8:30pm but the meteorologist, which is Latin for liar BTW, predict hot weather so we will get lots of beach goers again.

All the goombas will get out of the water right after the ideal times.  >:(

I got $100 bucks for anyone that tail ropes a foul hooked swimmer and gets a pic ...  ;D

Tom says that will go on the exotic catch list too ...

I foul hooked a jet-skier if that counts, or he foul hooked himself actually. Had a long-casted line soaking up in VC, rod in holder, when suddenly a Jet-Skier races in and starts wave jumping right in front of where my line entered the water. Then before I could reach it to open the bail up, my rod doubles over and drag ssszzzzscreamings out for two seconds as I simultaneously see the rider yanked off backwards from his ski into the surf. His shoulder got under my line as he was going away from the beach until the hook and sinker caught a piece of it thru his wetsuit. Can you say ooouuuchh! and I'll bet he'll be looking out for surf fisherman with lines out before he does any waving jumping again....

Cool story. Most of my jet skiers have been on top water.
