Only my first day back from a long weekend and my work went to hell.  Too stressed to sit at home and think about it, so I went fishing.  Conditions looked right online, but I somehow knew they wouldn't be when I got there.

Lots of big kelp stringers and salad with a raging current on the incoming tide.  Got 5-7 minute windows at best to soak macks before the kelp monsters rolled through.  It was hard to ID the bait stealers as the current and loose grass hitting my line were tough, but I did manage to pull in 2 balls of grass and kelp leaves that had a bass tucked away in the middle.  Yep, it made me jump when I was ripping the weed off my line and a bass appeared flopping in the middle.

So, I put in 2 hours and finally had to call it quits when the kelp got worse.  Not bad I guess, but still waiting for the sharks to show!

The water definitely chilled down a little bit from my last surf trip.

Tight Lines!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Well u gotta go to know they're not biting... grassy bass is better than no bass... almost can't remember the last time my line hit the salt water :/

Knew that was the story when I woke up and had no texts.

I went out a couple times last week up here and it was salad city as well. went out one evening, casted only twice before realizing there was no chance of actually fishing. Ive only fished the sand about a dozen times now, but i didnt even know that much salad was possible on the beach! Lol

Sometimes. Reeling in nothing but greens seems to always draw out the cuss words for me.

Salad nights are frustrating.

Unfortunately we don't have a sea weed forecast....
