Pre chummed beach is what I'm thinking. Not familiar with Del Mar for access points if that is public or not. Damn high surf would pose its own problems anyhow.

No matter how much I would like to try a chunk as bait, I don't want to be the guy seen going after a whale/dolphin/sea lion with a filet knife. Seems like it could be a problem.

I would head down to fish the chum line if conditions allowed.

Ditto! Gonna be lots of tree huggers mourning this whale and praying for a speedy resurrection. Could a sharker's dream come true if it's allowed to decompose longer once the surf dies down.

THAT would have pulled the big boys in close for sure. Too bad the surf is up. Guess you'd have to fish up wind too - bleh ...

Chris

Hopefully somebody has already vented it... If not then being the guy with a fillet knife might be the smart thing lol.

Somebody should go put a "get well soon" balloon on it.
Keep it tight

Too bad they loaded it on a flatbed to haul to the landfill about 3. Would have been nice if it "seeded" the water for a few days.
