We hit up a spot that Eric H told Ray about.
Ray and I were hoping to catch some good sized kitties tonight.

We set up our light gear and patiently waited.
About 40min or so into it my rod gets bit, I set the hook and bring up a nice bluegill (I've never caught one this big before)

After releasing it, we rebaited and castesd out again.
Ray was casting to the left, and I was casting to the right.
He recommended I cast towards the left as well, but I figured I'd stay in my spot.

About an hour or so after the little bluegill, my rod goes bendo! 🎣
I set the hook and bring it in.
It was a good sized kitty.
At this point I had already missed 2 bites. I was happy to bring this one in.

At this point, Ray was getting agitated. Then Bam! He gets a good run.
He tried setting the hook but the kitty let go.
He was furious 😤

It was already getting late, I wanted to pack up but Ray wanted redemption.
I told him I already got my cat and I was good to go
(it was cold and windy)

Next thing you know my rod goes off!
Another cat!
This one put up a good fight 🎣
She had a belly and was bigger than my first kitty.
I was beyond happy.
(Of course watching Ray get mad made me even happier)

Ray was happy I caught fish, but his competitiveness shined right thru him.

And that's how we ended the night.

Better luck next time Ray!! 🎣😬

You may be my favorite member of the boards! ;D  With that said, I'll have to careful when fishing with you and Ray now in case I start to get out fished by you!  LOL

Big old bluegill!  That's a toad!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Kittys are line shy so I use free running reels/open bails, circle hooks, and sight indicators.

Nice going. You are gonna drive Ray nuts.  ;D

I may have to make a trek to this place some day.

She's definitely getting good.
I can see I'm gonna have to definitely make an epic catch to redeem myself pretty soon...

Nice way to kill a night, gettin out fished by the misses happens to the best of us. My chick has a few notches on her rod as well B)

Lol she makes it interesting though.

When I lived there 8 years ago the average cat was 3 to 4 lbs.

Now the average is about 9 to 10. Guess that's them grown up...

I was catching 10's then which I'd assume are about 20 now.

One of the residents I spoke with was telling me about some 30s his son caught.

I'm gona get one.
