Experienced an epic skunk in the North County. Slight washing machine conditions. Turning stronger as the evening progressed. Nothing touched the mackerel. No weeds though.

The evening was very nice. Clear night sky, stars, not too cold. A nice night for a date on the beach but not good for fishing.

At least I got out and got some bait out into the big pond.

Fish on!

Just a skunk... putting your dues in will eventually reward you!  Jim put in a lot of time in the surf with a whole lot of skunks, but finally got that monster 7-gill.

Good try out there.  You cant catch them sitting on your couch.   8)
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

That was the motivation. I was tired of thinking about it and decided to begin the quest.
What is funny is that a beach hazard statement was issued that be Gan late last night. My son and I watch the thing develop right before us.
Like I said, it was a nice night out there with a beautiful sunset.
