Went out to fish the surf last night and even decided to try an entirely new location.  It seemed really good when we got down there, but the water hid the madness that was just below the surface.

I didn't have a fishable cast all night as within minutes, it was loaded up with giant balls of grass and kelp.  I even lost two rigs and called it to watch Steve fish.

Steve had two fishable casts (If you can call them fishable) and was rewarded with a -2!

Cut out at 11:00.  Bummer as all other conditions besides the grass was perfect.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I had one legit bite that slammed the bait but didn't pull any line. Everything else was just weeds. Or worse, an eel.

Wow! Have yet to catch one of those yet. Hope I never step on one of those. Nice report Tom!

You aren't the only one who feels that way. Hahah

I think the morays are cool too! But I've only caught dink monkeyfaces up here and I'm sure they're nowhere near as gnarly as the morays.
