It's all fun and games until the rats show.

Doing some bait making for another IV run and had to make some adjustments to catch some of the swarming sunfish/bluegill.

Lost lots of bait due to larger hook on the crappie jig and got nothing so presto chango as the light got dimmer and started to hit. One bluegill 2 sunfish, small large mouth and a big bull head. Mosquitoes started coming out as did rats who found my bag of bait. I'll go back and clean the litter another day but I wasn't grabbing that bag.

Had I started using the right presentation I'd have cleaned up. I know what to do next time at that AO.

About 6-8 baits in here.

Those dirty rats!  lol

Man, mosquitoes and rats make for a black plague kind of feeling!  Nice bait though and will do great for some big whiskers!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

spideyjg

Yeah a plague feeling is right. Not to mention the SD river is not the cleanest thing either.

You are fine until the sun starts setting. That was the latest I have stayed because I'm usually gone about the time sunglasses are too dark.

Damn, you did some down and dirty fishing right there: SD River; skeeters; and thievin' rats!  Fish look great but what the rats missed out on is the Gatorade glacier cherry - love that stuff, and frost flavor too.

Just like my yewt in the swamps just no alligators, snapping turtles, poisonous water snakes, fire ants and many more biting/stinging flying creatures. ;)

The Gatoraqde bottle was the standard lemon lime but those little 20 oz bottles are perfect sized to freeze blocks of ice for small chests. I have many in the freezer.

Ahh, I see.  Good call on reusing the bottle.

Lemon lime is good too - classic taste.
