Andrew Steve and I met up at the beach for another surf session.  The tide was horrible for what we fish for, but the action is steadily improving at least as we had a consistent pick bite over the next 3 hours.

I started with an eel of course which ruined my rig worse than I have ever seen.  I actually had to cut the leader it was so tangled and messed up.  Andrew even got video, but I need to get the vid from him to post it.  The eel came in HOT!  lol

Then we had a semi-steady pick of bass.  Well, many more that stole our bait, but we got some to shore.

I got a real bite and brought in a larger medium sized leopard shark.

I also caught a baby leo that somehow got the hug hook into his gullet!

Andrew finally got one of the bait stealers on his rig.

Steve left and Andrew's rod doubled over and the line started screaming out.  It looked and sounded like a soupfin run, but after setting the hook on it, it made some sharky flops and somehow spit the hook.  Oh well, he was bummed but that's how this type of fishing goes and he got a new bait right back out there trying again.

We left at midnight at dead low tide and considered it a success since we saw NO salad all night and all caught some fish.

We might have to do it again soon.

Until next tide!

Oh yeah, Steve lost some rigs here on Tuesday and was pretty bummed.  Look what I caught at the end of the night...

Steve will be very happy.  I seem to catch a lot of his rigs... Finders-Keepers I think???

Thanks for cleaning up my trash. Finders keepers? I guess, whatever. Luckily I know you throw 8's not 6's.

I just said that because that's exactly what you would say.  I knew your response already. Lol
I just cut the nest off. The rig is here for you to check out. Looks like the hook was the culprit. I'll have it for you the next time we fish.

Well, can't really argue with that. Always figured the hook was grabbin rock.
