So with good surf conditions, I decided to meet my folks and get out to do a little shark fishing.  The only issue is there was more rain than expected and my dad said he'll watch from the window.  My mom is more adventurous and braved the rain with me.  Well, she started cooking dinner first and then came down to join me.

The long ass trek down the steps and down the beach....

There was a lot of grass on the beach, but the surf was pretty clean.

I was getting picked clean or the mack heads were getting the crap chewed out of them...   A comparison.

I got hooked up a few times on bass that got off and finally had a nicer bite which quickly got off after a few head shakes. I'm pretty certain it was a leopard shark, but my 2017 has started off pretty shaky with all these missed fish..

Mom couldn't believe the long rod shark equipment.  She was very hopeful to see a big Great White...

Well, I finally snagged one of the bastards, so at least she got to see something beached!

Unfortunately, It was just dark and I was ready for some big sharks when Mom said, "OK, time to go eat supper.  You're dad's probably hungry."  So just when fishing was ready to get good, mom pulls the "Dinner" card.  Yep, that works for me as I packed up and went up to have a spectacular dinner before heading home.

I can't complain as it was pretty much a win-win while they are still visiting!

Your a strong man Tom...Put in that situation I probably would have left a bait out and tried to keep an eye on my rod thru binoculars from the dinner table...And end up watching my set-up get dragged into the suds as I'm tumbling down the stairs trying to get to it in time😥😂

Yeah, I feel like I'm going to collapse with all the gear I have on trying to walk back up those steps.  LOL
