Big Pancake for Breakfast - 4/14/17

 Had a half day Thursday and today off... took a walk on the beach down south yesterday for some Intel and from the cliffs above during the day. Missed a chance to catch up with Josh (Rasta) for a Wednesday night surf soak. He forgot his big gear and stayed further south to throw swim baits for hali. Had the Itch still...Halibut would be the target... so decided to hit the Goon this morning at the peak low to see what was funneling in... Throwing the LC hardbait, casted over the sandbar and into the channel that was still emptying out to sea. Fan cast the shallow sand bar, running it up the back of the bar... 5 casts or so and feel pressure...think it's grass on the way out... give it rip to free and she zips off down the back of the bar! Fish on! It's got some good weight behind it, pulling drag and thumping hard, bring it close 3X and its back after the ledge of the bar again! Got it close once more and scoop her into the net (so glad I brought it!)! Whoo Hoo! Legit 31"    .   I hope I'm itchy tomorrow!!! Tight lines everyone!
