Question for the guys who fish 2 shark rods, are you doing this only with another person or do you also do it solo?

Usually just solo. Sometimes with one other but if there's 3 people I just use one rod.

What do you if you get lucky and both have a grinner or big surf bats?!

I used to bring 2 rods, but had the other as a back up rig in case I got spooled or broke a guide, now I just pack an extra reel in my backpack.

I've had this happen and successfully landed both fish. One reason I make sure the rod holders are set well. Just keep one in the holder and tighten the drag down.

That was in Florida, one was a redfish and the one I left in the holder was a 5ft blacktip. It didn't take long to land the red and the blacktop ran up and down the beach.

It'll get interesting right quick if you had two 50" bats on!

I'd guess I fish 2 long rods when I'm solo half the time and just one the other half of the time. But if it's light out I usually soak the long rod and throw a lure on another light rod
When fishing 2 long rods, I try to reel in the 2nd rod as soon as I can, quickly, with one hand while it's in it's holder, while just holding the grip of the rod that's hooked up, or if there's someone else with me I have them reel the 2nd rod in quickly to get it out of the water.
Bats usually do run in schools so if there are 2 baits in the water there's a good chance you'll get a double if you don't get the 2nd bait outa there quick.

I like to make all of my rigs at home so I don't have to futz with them on the sand after a couple of beers ;D
Anybody have an emergency beer?

I enjoy fumbling on the sand getting everything ready on site
