I've had the itch to catch a leo for a while now, haven't caught one since Jan '16.  Asked Tony if he wanted to try a morning session and he agreed.  Arrived to the beach while it was still dark and set up.  Squid on one rod and mackerel on the other.  Absolutely stellar conditions, zero grass and no wind.  Tony caught three small bats and then hung the right kind.  Tony=4  Verne=0

Hmmm. Bat rays I expect on squid but always preferred mack for leppos.

Great read and great pic! This might be the cover story tomorrow!

Great seeing you fish with the long rod again!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Great job on the Leo Verne, even if it was the wrong rod. Great to see you long rodding again!
Anybody have an emergency beer?

Nice leo!  It's cool seeing them caught during the day.
