Going to see mom Saturday. 101 is closed. How do I get around closure to get to Pismo Beach?

5 to 166 into Santa Maria will do it but seems like a long way around.

Any local info to get around?

Thanks.

Steve,
That's pretty much your best option.
I was able to get up the 101 to Carpinteria this morning but no further.
They just did a complete mandatory evaluation and shut down of Montecito so you can't get past Carp.
Drive safe!

Figured as much. Looks about 40 miles farther and 166 looks pretty curvy.

Oh well, see some new sights. Small problem considering everything going on.

Thanks.

Yeah it's out of the way, but it's actually a really nice drive once you get past magic mountain.

sasquatch

Well, I made it. Super foggy coming off the grapevine until I climbed back out of it on 166.

Nice drive. Took about an hour extra.

8 car wreck yesterday and up to 2 hour delays reported during weekdays but I had no problem this morning.

Santa Maria paper says 101 closed indefinitely. Water still crossing the road from the creeks. Lots of work ahead.

Now on to the chores.

Glad to hear you made it ok.  Enjoy your folks.  :)

How far can you get up on the 101 Chad? Carpenteria but not Santa Barbara?

Yep. 101 is closed at the 150 exit.
