Since he apparently doesn't want to write a report, I'll fill in the blanks.

He hit the surf.  Broke off a giant bat on the reef with his first bait.

His next bite was a 4ish foot Leopard.

His final fish of the night was another big bat that he couldn't (or wouldn't) slide up onto the beach and it broke off in the surf.

You can't catch them from your computer chair.
