Made the 200 mile round trip to do some long rodding at the spot.....unfortunately no bites just heavy, heavy kelp and eel grass....
Till the conditions turned real nice at about 8, so made wading out there quite a ways out there seem easy, just makes me feel uneasy tho in 7gill country, but otherwise that didn't help
Ps.And on the way home almost was watching a drunk driver cause a scene about 200 yards up the road on the 5 freeway, swerving from 1 lane to the next, wall to wall, till she finally hit the right shoulder, bounced off, and pitted a minivan, causing it to spin out and crash into the diver...Just clearing....they both were able to pull over after and hug the shoulder after atleast...

Sorry you struck out, last time I was out I saw a drunk in a new mustang swerving all over PCH...he was pulled over by CHP within minutes.

Skunks suck, it's even worse when you have to do 200 miles for it.

Yikes! sorry bout that skunk and the drive. You'll triple up next time though  :P :P

Perseverance will always pay off.   You always have to strike while the iron is hot and you guys were hot last week.  It was totally worth the trip up there, even if it turned out to be a skunk.
Putting the time in will always pay off as you never know when the next wave of grinners will move through.

You can't catch them from your computer chair.

If you are nervous wading out, shouldn't that be as far as you need to cast?

Long drive for nothing, but at least you weren't involved with the drunk.

It's all good, and I figured I'm there, gotta do everything in my power right, rather than regret not doing getting the distance on bait placement lol
That drunk driver sure was a wake up call tho, I hope everyone in the mini van was ok...
And this is the 10th trip to the area for 7's, so skunk # 6, but that's fishing tho, I'm at least glad I gave it a legit shot, and planning for next week....

Wish I could catch 4/10 trips to the beach. I'd be stoked.

SevengillTheVC

I'm off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of grin. Hope the small surf today makes for less of a kelp issue, spot B is going to be the target tonight.
