Slow at the shop.. Boss gave us the day off.. Losing my mind I decided to take a trip into home depot to see what I could get myself into.. Having paid around $50 for my last sand spike and needing another one I decided to give it a shot and this is the end result.. I'm calling this my 30minute prototype for now..

The PVC pipe used to hold your rod seems too long. If a shark takes down your rig and does a long steady run, getting it out of the pipe might be a pain. Let us know how it hold up after a couple of trips to the surf.

Worked just as good as they one I bought from the pro shop.. When you get your bite just pull the whole thing out, let the spike drop off, and fight the fish.. I just put a 4.5' soupfin on the sand with it.. My point is that I don't lose my $300 rig.. And for me.. It served it's purpose..
