Went north this weekend and looked at some water, it's just as wet up there as down here. Soaked some baits and caught a male soupfin in the 65" range on a piece of mackerel. Didn't fight very hard for its size. Good initial run then thought I had a medium ray.

Good to be out and get the lines wet. Baits been scarce so I filled my bucket at Marina del ray bait dock along the way.

Always good to look at the water.

Need to get out there next weekend too. Looking forward to it!

LOL, I spit up a little coffee this morning seeing this.

Maybe next week we can get out to do a little surf casting for sevengills?  I'm meeting with buds tonight and hope I can go afterwards, but I might not be in any shape to do so knowing them.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Nice, a 65" soupfin isn't nothing!

I've wondered about that, did you fish off the bait dock or buy mackerel from them?  Baits been really scarce for us also and MDR is only a hop, skip and a jump away.  Thanks

$30 for a scoop and it fills a 5 gallon bucket about 1/2 way maybe a little more.
