I'll keep it short and sweet.  I'll be sending teaser threads as they come up here.  Just remember to be safe out there.  Those damn stingers hurt like hell and you can get stuck with the slightest lapse in judgement or impairment.  I know it way too well.

I want to say "May the best County win", but we all know what county rules SoCal.  Hahahaha

In all seriousness, remember to keep a tight tape for the picture and make sure your pictures are posted on the Facebook SNBF page or here on the forum by 11:59 pm!  Let's make sure they all count and let's try and do a better job then having the winning bat ray being only 20.5 inches wide!

I'll be packing the Bat Mobile later tonight!

Jaws

Already packed and ready to roll! Going to try and slip on to the island at dark thirty if not then to the back up spot and on the island ASAP!
It's all Tom and Don's fault! They "hooked" me on mud marlins and sharks!

SNBF VI  Winner

See you guys out there!  Good luck and get some!

A day in the life of the SNB Fight:

Two rods and no take downs at 2 spots. Really cool full moon lighting so I thank you for getting me out tonight.

Sorry about that.  It was posted on the SNBF Facebook page.  I pretty much collapsed from exhaustion after I posted it there yesterday.

So, first and foremost, congrats Jerry for catching the winning bat for Team SD! The winner was a 30" bat caught in the surf during the morning session and second place went to the OC with a 27" bat. I want to thank everyone who participated

This is our second tough event in a row which is odd and left everyone scratching their heads. We only caught one bat in the bay all day/evening and only two were caught down here all day. Many of the guys in SD put in all 18 hours to try and catch a monster bat while hitting up about 8 different spots throughout the county and that's dedication for a small pay-off, but we all came together at the end of the evening for great camaraderie and some bonfires to cut through the chilly air.

The bats are in SoCal right now, but it takes a lot of persistence, time and effort to try and hunt them down in an 18 hour window. One of our Teammates Anthony has been crushing them this past month or two, but it's funny that the fish almost seem to know when it's time to hide. lol

Once again, thanks to everyone who participated and enjoyed the trip. I haven't caught a bat in the last two events and it's tough on me mentally, but the wheel of fortune eventually comes full circle an the law of averages says we're due for bat fight with a lot of players!

Here are some pics we took throughout the day.

The garbage can that floated from the beach during high tide and made a semi circle out in the bay before returning to the other side of the channel.  LOL

Steve also caught some strokers...

Skunked at spot number 1.  Stopped off to get some good grub and a breakfast beer.

More shots including when Tim went clamming in the MB Mud.  LOL

Jaws caught some plastic bags.

Better weather than anticipated and fun times.

Slow fishing though, but a few were caught.

Dave and Roger stopped by...

A few dumped bigger models happened last night, but it was still fun catching up and staying mostly technology free between multiple generations including the kids who just had fun with the fire and fishing!

Hopefully more pictures get posted.  Otherwise most are on the SNBF FB page.

Thanks for another great event everyone!
