What are you trying to make happen this year?

I'd like to

-get my first thresher
-get my soupfin
-get my first corbina (why it's taken this long...)
-get better at catching sw bass from the Mosquito (didn't try much of in 2021 TB quite H)
-go down to the Sea of Cortez for some new species, hopefully some real gamefish!

Some other species that I think I can finally get this year like diamond turbot, bonefish, garibaldi(god forbid!) but those 3 feel urgent that I gotta get done.

Now you!

BenCantrell

Bull shark!  ;D

Amberjack and mahi are the two other species that I'm slightly embarrassed I haven't caught yet in FL.

Pinoyfisher

-Start a life list
-Keep better logs of my shark catches
-I want a bycatch of 2 species (iykyk)
-100lb tuna
-legal WSB
-shore caught YT
-bonefish
-join the 100" 7gill club

Actually measure and weigh any new personal bests.

Fish more plastics.

Add a rudder to the kayak.

Latimeria

Pretty good lists so far.

Mine are not as extravagant as they have been in years past, but here it goes.

  • Catch a 40# Halibut and/or WSB...  I finally got my 40# yellow, so I just need these two to make the 40/40/40 SoCal Club
  • Catch at least 20 new species this year... I have over 300, but will resort to smaller critters if need be to attain this goal
  • As Jeremy mentioned, go to the Sea of Cortez (like Gonzaga Bay) and get some fine inshore fishing for all those exotics
  • Catch an exotic shark/ray from the beach (other than 7-gill, Soupie, Leopard, Smoothhound, or bat ray

That's pretty much my goals for 2022... everything else is just the icing and cherry.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Best one yet.

I'm digging em.

Yup Tom I hope to hit Puerto PeƱasco in the springtime, hopefully with the boat. I could knock off corvina, triggerfish, pompano, and possibly some groupers/bass around April. Then I got an invite to trailer a boat down to Loreto in August, hopefully finding tons of inshore exotics as well as the gamefish. I added maybe 10 species in 2021 and I'd like to add a lot more this year. However those big ones like threshers have taken a lot of my time and might take even more.

Hoping the same for you Tim, can't wait for your first report from the new sled.
