Well, Squatch and I ran out to test the planing ability on the Curmudgeon.  We hit the bay because it was supposed to get pretty bumpy out there, but it was pretty quiet out until about noon.

We ran to a bunch of areas and I could get us on plane at 3,000 rpms which is quite incredible!  My 60hp would never dream of doing that even if it was just me on board.

We picked away at about 3 dozen spotties in the morning.

Tide was dead low and no moving water, so the bite was tough.  Terns were all over and picking away, but not on any schools of fish.

Steve was cheating using the Cheater Sauce, but I fished the hard way without flavor and ended up as the Hi-liner, JP, and Variety!  hahaha, sorry Steve, I had to get that in.

Caught a few small butts...

Even got a Calico!  I never got a calico south of the bridge before....

I also got my first corvina of the year, although I think a mackerel could have eaten it.

One cool thing of the morning, was reeling in a spotty and seeing a 19" corvina follow it up and SLAM it knocking the bass off the swimbait.  It was pretty cool to see and also kind of unbelievable that it would attack a 10" bass!

Anyway, we cut the morning early as I had Father's Day things to do at home.  It's been a while since Squatch and I were out in the boat and fun to get out and fish with him again.

On the way in, we saw a big ass boat pull in and I can't believe it fit in the channel!

Well, I hope all the dads out there had a great fathers day.  Time to keep on breaking in the motor!  I'm wondering if Tim has his motor broken in by now?
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Nice day, interesting about that corvina attacking the spotty...

Fun day for sure. Little slow fishing wise, but the upgrades to the boat were great.
