Met Tom at a likely looking spot. Never fished it before but it looked fishy.

Set up and sent some baits out. Really nothing happening until  I hear Tom yell and then the clicker screams. Line just peeling off. Feels like a big bat. It finally turns, I gain some line, and then it takes off parallel with the beach. It turns again, I start to gain line, and then it's all over. Pulled the hook. Damn.

Only bite all night but it was a good one.

That hasn't happened in a while... truck bed hook?  Seems like when Tom's at home you do much better ;) That a mack head or Bonita? Hard to tell, thing got annihilated  :o

sasquatch

Mack head. Reasonably fresh hook. Sharp enough to stick me in the finger anyway.

Had me worried about line capacity that's for sure.

Didn't realize my grammer whent that far sowth on Sondays ...

But if you bought bait I guess you purchased the bite too ...  :P :P :P

Latimeria

My back is hurting today and I didn't even pull on any big fish....  That was a bummer for sure, Steve as I saw it all go down.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Jaws

Bummer Steve! Looks like it would have been a monster!
It's all Tom and Don's fault! They "hooked" me on mud marlins and sharks!

Anybody have an emergency beer?

Destroyed bait  Steve. What's the furthest you had to walk a beach to try and not let the Shark spool you? Or if not spool, to just try and get some reeling in done on the fish? Do sharks get tired out after a awhile or do they just keep pulling. Sorry for the 50 questions.

Jerry had a nice hit last night and didn't move from his spot, drag seemed liked it was peeling forever, he had plenty of line left too, but the line broke on him. I tried some squid but there was tons of salad everywhere. I had a good time trying though.  ;D

This was most likely a bat ray, Joel. I have had to go from one side of a reef to the other to follow bats. Sharks, not so much, 10-20 yards. I usually try to gain line between backing up the beach and reeling as I move forward.

Everything gets tired eventually. I prefer to land them quickly for a better release. I hate the ones that need babysitting until they swim off. I don't always get my preference.
