Woke up at 0700, moseyed over to Huntington harbor and launched about 0830. Figured I'd see how the action was tight to the beach. Turned out to be good.

First cast got bit and lost it. 2nd cast got bit and stuck it.

After last time, I decided I'd only keep bass that are throat hooked/bleeding. Fish gods must have liked that intention in my heart, because I proceeded to catch and release my legal limit several times over. 16 fish in my first hour of fishing. Went 5 out of 6 casts at one point, every other cast was a fish for a couple hours.

Texted my dad at 20 fish. He said "arghhhh". I said meet me at the ramp at 0800 tomorrow.

30th fish.

As per my new rule, one came home for dinner. I'm enjoying it alongside some mahi in ceviche as I type.

Started to slow down to a fish every 15 minutes or so. Figured with my dad coming I'd save a few lips to rip for tomorrow and check Izor's and see if there's life there as a backup plan for tomorrow.

Couldn't get bit for almost an hour. Some dolphins cruised by busting on bait, and several sardine balls were scattered all around. Ended up picking off 2 nice turds and a short calico in quick succession before it got quiet again.

Ended the day with 33 bass, pretty even mix of sandies and calicos. Dinks to 3lbs. All but the last 2 were on this poor little mini iron.

I'd be stoked if tomorrow was half as good as today.

And the weather never let up!

Excellent Jeremy!  I see the little iron and assist hook is doing well for you as 30+ bass will attest!

Man, that looks like some beautiful water out there.  Figures I'm planning on staying home to work on projects I've been neglecting, but still have 12 hours to think about it. lol

Bravo boss!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
