Having been crammed in a small house with 4 girls has been wearing on me.  I woke up Saturday morning to a crying granddaughter and decided to hook up the boat and get away for a bit.  Man, I wish I prepped anything the night before because it was a lot of prep to do at 7:30 am.

Finally got out with nothing but the hopes of some bass and maybe a butt.

It was a little windy by the time I got out there, but it was supposed to subside before going 15-20 mph in the afternoon.  The turd rollers were on the chew, but my usual winter bass spot was pretty empty compared to years past.

I still ended up with 8 turds and 4 calico by the end of the morning.

Only one was legal, but the rest were all right between 12-13.9"

I also caught a few big Browns, but just released them right away before they bloated.

I moved around and went looking for triggers and listened to all the radio chatter about some big halibut caught off La Jolla.  I caught some calico and some small brownies that sucked down 6' swimbaits!

I metered some exciting looking stuff as I got into LJ.  Macks were everywhere and I caught about 30 of them.  I then metered a school of something hugs swimming below the boat!  Holy shnikeys!  I wasn't prepared with anything and the school was gone before I could blink.  Too many boats in LJ, and I had one big hit that tore the mack off, but it was only on as fast as it was off.

The wind picked up and I headed back to the barn, but from everything I saw on the meter, I'm very excited to see what I have seen.

You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Nice morning and nice mac haul. My limited sabiki attempts last week didn't score me any so waiting for water temps to come up a hair more before loading up on them.
