The Cyclops wanted to get wet and I am pretty busy from now till end of July so today was the day to get it done !

Launched out of South Shores but didn't think I would even get there, the fog was so thick in Valley Center that I almost stayed home !  With the help of my glasses, I made it to South Shores to    drizzly conditions. My Buddy Richard met me there and we headed out.

Water was flat calm but Red Tide was showing it's hand !!! Poked around my spots but not many Bait Balls were around. Then we found a few players in 300', Richard was first on board.

The water was a deep purple in LJ and with some intel from a Captain buddy we venture up into Solana Beach and started to get some action.

Richard Doubled Up

This little guy put up a damn good fight !!!

After coming back from Solana Beach area, we poked around LJ  some more and got a few biters. The water was so flat and calm I didn't want to leave but it was already 4:10 pm.  Made it back to the inlet in no time, The Cyclops was cruising at 30 MPH no problem. Richard tended the boat while I fetched the trailer. Only boat at The Ramp, PERFECT !!!

Time to head for the hills.

Not a full Kill Bag, but enough for a few Tacos.

Sure hope The Red Tide goes away soon !

Sounds like a fun day. Those spiny dogfish really do pull hard. Boat is looking great!

Pretty nice day considering, Tim.  I was out also, and it was almost rain!
There was a lot of BLUE water offshore, but the water was still pretty cold.

Oh, and you need to start the tuna hunt when your back to the water!  lol

BTW, nice spiny dogfish.  Glad he didn't poke you with those spikes.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I saw the spikes and made sure to avoid  the '' POKE ''.   I'm still not sure I want to wrestle them tuna just yet and be sore for a week after, but if they happen to swim under my boat, it might happen.  lol

Works for me Tim, glad you found some players.  Taking ours out this morning, hopefully I'll have a report
