Well, Winter is just around the corner and the days are getting shorter, temps are starting to drop and it's time to prep  ;)  Back in May I got a couple loads of Oak Firewood but never got around to splitting it. That time is here, time to get busy !

Got the Log Splitter out and she fired up 1st pull 8) Spent a couple hours down by the wood pile and made some progress :)

Now to stack it all to make room for a couple more trailer loads, rinse and repeat and I should have 6 or 7 cords on hand to last me a few years :)  :)

I thought you split it by hand, or had your boys do it. Lol, that's a lot of wood!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I always had access to a splitter but decided to buy my own a few years back, the wood stove gets hungry from Oct. thru Mar. ;D

Wood was my soul source of heat from 1973 to 2008 and lived where it got butt cold.  Kind of miss chasing 'burning sticks', kind of   ;)
