I should have stayed home.  No one was there as I drove by on the way home from work.  I decide to hit it up for a few hours!

Set up and immediately 2 ladies and 4 kids park it right next to me.  I go into the truck for some quiet and look to see my strike indicator gone!  I ran down thinking I had a fish on, but my line never moved, and I could not find the indicator.  Like nowhere!  The wind was blowing into me, so it should have been on the shore, but it wasn't there.  Ugh, where could it have gone unless one of the kids grabbed it?  I texted Steve what happened, and we had no idea.

Then a few cars park right in front of me blaring mariachi music at level 10.  They opened up the hatch and let everyone at Santee Lakes enjoy the music.... Casting rods that made Walmart rods look like GLoomis and not sure what was for bait.  Casting over me and I was pissed but decided to just realize that I'm just in one of those situations.

Then I see 25 yards away the other kids playing with an orange bobber and I ran over there.  Yep, they took it right off my line I gather, and the unsharpened hook must have made them not want it anymore.  At least that mystery was solved.  They left, then I had to deal with the fiesta out front.  I pretty much locked myself in the truck and put some metal on to try and get that accordion or whatever out of my head.  Then a guy comes up asking "Hablo Espanol?".  I replied, sorry, I'm better at understanding than speaking it. So he grabbed this 4-year-old kid to translate.  Basically, it was the same thing I would hear from any person coming up to me while fishing.  "Where are the fish?" etc. etc. etc.

Finally with 30 minutes left until closing, everybody left.  I never got a bite, but it was 30 minutes of peace and quiet which somehow brought me back to ease.  Oh well, we caught them all yesterday, I guess.

I get home to more drama from the neighbors and realized something.... This was a bad month to quit booze. 6 days in and I'm craving a Rum and Coke.....
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I really am a magnet for these sort of things.
