Mission Bay (2/24)

So my company calls this a "Me Day".  You can take your birthday off with pay, but mine fell on a Saturday, so I took it on Monday.  I was pretty tired and fishing in the ocean the other day wasn't too good, so I decided to chuck plastics in the bay.

Well, it was a gorgeous morning down at the bay!



Wind was nice and calm for about 2 hours before it picked up significantly.  I tried my halibut spots, but only found small spotties.





Before I knew it, the current started raging and the bite shut off. 

Only 3 measly 9" spotties and a 7" sardine that I somehow hooked in the face.  Current was against the wind... water was dirty as hell, water was COLD.... so I just did a tour and decided to come home a little earlier than expected.



I'm going to have to get as much fishing in as I can since it looks like I definitely need surgery on my right shoulder.  Complete tear of the rotator cuff.... How the hell can I have 3 shoulder surgeries and only two shoulders!  UGH....

Well thanks for reading.  Is anyone else getting out?

A bit on the slow side eh, but nice sunrise.

Almost chalked up my 11th skunk. Went to the beach with the long rod and a guitar, took one look at the conditions and only pulled out the guitar. Getting out and not getting bit. Daylight savings is about to swing in favor of after work sessions so maybe there will be opportunities there.

Probably try Wohlford Saturday. I'd try for the big blues but not sure 🤔 m up for the hike to the spot. I know I'm not up to landing a 40+ monster. So I'll hit senior shoreline with the other old timers.

Another surgery   That will put a damper on things

The Boat looks nice and shiny clean, hopefully water conditions clear up soon.
