Headed out again yesterday to see if the frenzy was still popping.  Tried out a little different spot just down the way.  Had a med speed big dropping tide.  Bay still full of bait, birds, but still nosigns of those damn silver fish. .  The bite didnt disappoint  either.  Although it was a totally different bite with the tide moving out.. the spotties have a tendency to hunker down in the grass or hide behind structure with that kind of current.  I tied on the good old A Rig and a 1/2 oz war baits head witha 5" sierra slammer blue shiner.  A rig bumping the grass got some good bites, but the swim bait sunk in the grass then fast wind put in free spool BAM they would mob it.  they were short biting on the wind, but as soon as you paused the bait or started the wind they were on it.  kicked around for 50 or so fish.  Nothing very big maybe a few in the 14 in range.  popped 5 butts 18 to 24 or 25 in.  Got near the car made one last cast when the right hit came.  POW and that heavy deep pull again.. the fish wasnt the ONE but fit in the net and this thing was FAT and thick.  Took some pics and released.  Another great day but the bite is changing.  Remember to match the hatch. and change the retrieve till you find out what they want.  Go get some guys its insane out there right now.

Damn, back to back killer trips!   

Great shot of the hali!  Those baits remind me of the "Ring Worm" from back in the 80's.
