Well, plans were to hit the bay and surf, but the weather kind of put a damper on things, so we just decided to hit the bay.  My only goal was to break in the new stick with something bigger than a Flea-Shark or ray.

Got to the bay in pouring rain.  I was waiting for Steve to show up when the Stalker showed up on his way home from work.  LOL
Rasta called one of the new guys Troy down to hang out and get to know some of the faces on the board. Nice meeting you Troy.

It wasn't long before Steve showed up and my rod went singing.  It was definitely a ray, but not a bat.  I called a Diamond and Voila!  New stick broken in properly.

The tide was RACING in and fishing was tough but we did have our share of missed bites as well as the flea-rays and a bay soupie... OK, Steve was hiding the back dorsal, but you would need to prove him wrong!  LOL

I got a "zero" fish not long after that.  Rattlesnake of the bay....

Fishing slowed down and I could/should have packed it in before dark, but we tried until dark and headed home.  Lots of life on the surface after the rain, but nothing wanted to play when Steve busted out the small rod.

Oh well, it wasn't much... but Andrew was stoked to see the new stick on fish only a day after it arrived on my doorstep.  It was also a decent model Diamond to the one's we have been catching, so it made the catch on the new rod pretty damn sweet.   8)

Thanks for reading and get out there this weekend!  We want to see what you guys catch!

Nice to meet Troy and shoot the breeze.

Thought you had ordered a shark stick, but rays are fun too.

Haven't tangled with a diamond in a while. Those barbs and their attitudes are no joke!
