FUGLY!

Kelp monsters ripping by in the skinny. Clean on the outside, but the moment your line dips, it catches everything. Not sure what plan B is about now except catch a buzz.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

The water cleaned up pretty good for a few hours before the kelp came back.  We made a move and found clean water, but didn't fish long as we were ready to hit the road.  It looked pretty fishy though!

Seeing as this is my first year hitting the sand, is this cabbage and eelgrass assault a summer thing or is this level unusual?

It's periodic depending on the swell, wind and current. When conditions are good, hit it hard as it takes longer for the weeds to get swept away than it does for them to show up.
