My eldest son and I just got back from a 4 hour session near the Bahia Resort.  My son got his second Bat Ray of the season.  It was another little guy (literally) measuring out at 28". Son was stoked! The little guy fought very hard and made a couple nice runs. I'm stoked because it was the first fish on that rig and setup.
We went through many a bait sealers to get this one and there was no question that this was the right kind.

We hope this is a warm up to next weekend when my boys Boy Scouts Troop camp at San Clemente State Beach,  weather permitting. The surf shark and rays are bigger and meaner than the ones in the bay, or so I've heard.  We can't wait to get our world rocked by one of those bad boys.

Fish On!

Nice, glad to hear there is action in the Bay  8)

Congrats boss!  Seriously, the Bahia is a feast or famine spot, but they are usually triple digit weight fish over there. Nice going getting it done.
I'm looking forward to see what you guys get on the San Clemente boy scout trip! Good luck!   8)
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Much kudos for taking the boy and getting involved in scouting..............respect, Verne

Congrats on getting your boy hooked up.

A bat from the surf would make that scout troop holler.
