Last night was the latest I've ever hit the suds, 10pm. Fished the outgoing tide hoping for some eating fish with my mom coming to visit this weekend. Could always thaw some YFT or YT from the deep freeze, but I haven't had some fresh caught fried fish in a while.

Brought squid and market shrimp, the medium sized rod and small tackle. Made several casts and soaks while slowly moving south covering ground. I did find some live bait... alas, my hooks were a little too small.

Pounded sand for 2hrs for nada, not even a bite! Surf is starting get rough again. I guess Binh and I will hit the little bay tomorrow for some batting practice.

I left around 9. No bites for me while I was there. Cool pic of the seal.

Wow!  Everyone was out last night!

bummer, but status quo I guess.  That Lurcher Sea Hound might have went for your jugular!

Cool you got out, Mike. That dog would have surprised the heck out of me as I creep around in the dark.

It did that to me! I had to stay close to the cliff-side due to rough surf and I heard a grunt/exhale as I got close. Almost stab it with my machete I was so startled. Yes, I carry a machete with me when I fish solo. Too many run ins with coyotes and unsavories to not be prepared to go down "hacking".
