Upping the ante on bass rig.

My 10ft rod is a steelhead rod that cast 2oz which is great for perch/croaker sized rigs but last outing It got outmatched trying to go as a bass rig.

Upgraded to a Lamiglas X11 9 footer that cast 1-4 oz and paired with a Saltist 20 with 40lb braid and 30lb flouro top shot.

Testing it out tonight where I broke off last outing.

That would be a killer combo for shore surf bassin, and could definitely handle a smaller 7!

Exactly. The shark rig is overkill, my light set can't cast enough weight and would have no chance on a larger beast as evidenced last trip when I got broken off.
