...as in Bass!

Got word from a surfer bud that he saw quite a few finned creatures swimming around when he was out paddling around.  Surf was suposed to be layed down, so it was the perfect opportunity. The day before, Ray was razzing me about an epic surf session and it was time to fish a new beach.  I brought a bass rod as well since I had to make sure the trip out there was worth it.

I got out there before Ray and Starfish and immediately realized what kind of night this was going to be.

My first few bass were hovering in the "legal" range before they kept getting bigger!

It's been many years since I fished two rods in the surf and it made it hard always having to two tend to both when they were constantly getting bit.

Selfies were tough in the dark and Ray was running late.

I probably lost 3 bass for every one I caught.

All bass but one were released since it swallowed the shark hook to its anus.

The great flying Calico!

All the fish were quality as 2.5 to 3 pounders were the norm.

Ray and Starfish showed up and the bass catching continued.

Ray got on the board on the first cast, but Starfish was the bangler that shined tonight!

I was interupted by a few shark-like bites, but couldn't either to stick.  I did manage my first nasty night crawler of the evening though!

While Ray and I were shooting the sh!t, Starfish was fighting a Piggy!  Ray thought it might have been a small BSB when he first saw it, but it was a sweet bass!  Ray and I guesstimated 7 pounds or so.

I ended with 11 on the beach with this girl and lost a few dozen more.

The tide dropped out and the hour was late, so we left them biting.  Not sure of the final tally, but the amount of bass out there was crazy!

Good fishing with you Ray and Starfish.  Who needs a Bass King, when you're fishing with the Bass Queen!

Bravo and well done Giavanna!  Ray and I need to do less talking and more fishing apparently!  ;D
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
