Well, Steve and I got out and hit a spot we have not hit in a while.  We needed to change up from the other haunts to see what was going on.

First cast and Steve loses a rig...
My first cast and I get a bat!  It acted very Leopard-like, but those medium sized bats on the heavy gear make some funny flops and runs.

Steve on his second or third cast loses another rig..
My second cast and I get the scourge of the surf! A Ben Eel! (Well I'm reaching for the "B's!!!)  lol

Steve finally gets his rhythm and pics up a few bass.  We actually went on a little bass tear there...

My mack heads were getting devoured by some nicer grade bass.

I ended up with 3 calico and a sand bass.

Steve ended the night with 3 calico and a BIGGER model bat ray.  Super late in the season for this girl to be so pregnant.

We packed up and were gone by 11:15.  Not bad for 3 hours of fishing even though the sharks were a no show again.

Oh well, another good Tuesday Night in the books!
Thanks for reading.

It was a good night. No sharks, but no skunks either.

Work on 3 1/2 hours sleep is a little rough but I'm making up for it at happy hour as I type.

Nice haul.  That's a chunky eel!

Based on some of the pics, it looks like you had a kelp issue. But no mention of it means you avoided that. All the spots I've hit recently have been kelpy. Just my luck I guess.

Yes, Kelpy and Grassy but somewhat fishable.  15 minutes soak time was all we got in between casts.
