To send me packing! Lost 3 rigs! Felt like Jim. Some kids even walked up to me and let me know they saw a ton of kelp while body boarding...  . Called it after the 3rd rig snapped off. Was on the beach a total of 45mins. Saw a big ass raccoon as I was leaving. Looked a hyena escaped from the zoo. Took all my strength to ignore the kid in me and not to throw my gear down and chase after it. Where the hell did all this kelp come from??!!

The smallest of the kelp clumps and the only one I could reel in. Even though my line snapped, my line was wrapped up into it, it held the clump together.

Oh boy.... that makes me cringe.  I'm glad I walked for miles looking for a clean beach now and found a spot to at least get some soak time in for one session.

I'm guessing you've never been around raccoons?  They can tear a dog up, have frick'n teeth that that are razor sharp.  I watched one chase my daughter around after she threw a shoe at it
