Well, a quick scouting/bass session led us to believe that the surf is totally filled with chopped salad.

We decided to hit the rocks looking for something exciting to catch.  Possibly a little yellow or bonito?  Most likely a calico..

We made many cast and I finally hook up with a nice Calico!  The problem was I couldn't get it over this drop off lip of a rock 10 yards out.  I actually just got him up and over when he threw the jig... ugggg

3 casts later and I get slammed again, but couldn't get it to stick.  I thought the bite was turning on, but that was it.  We were ready to leave when we decided to check out some tide pools instead.

Lots of baby fish around...

I tried getting pictures of blennies and sculpin, but they were too quick to catch on camera.

Saw some grazing Sea Slugs also... Super cool critters.  Here is an underwater shot of his body...

And here was his head out of water munching on sea lettuce!

All in all, a fun morning even though we both wore the stripe.  I'm still counting mine as it was that much closer than Squatch got to landing one.  LOL

Thanks for checking in.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Love rock hopping for bass. Just hate the type of people you run into. Bummer on the skunk, happens to the best of us

It is easier to get bit when you target the dinks. I was going for the bigger models. I count myself more successful as I lost 0 fish to your 2 fish lost.

Tidepools were fun.

Is it better to have hooked and lost or to never have hooked at all.  ;)
