We hit a new section of our new AO last Saturday hoping for less people, more structure and something big.

The hike down was a piece of cake. The hike back kicked my fat-old-out-of-shape-ass big time, which probably explains the lack of people, at least for a Saturday AM on the beach in The OC. There were a couple of surfers, but they either all went to where the swell was too big to fish or were cool enough to walk down the beach a little ways. No campers, no fish cops, just a few joggers/walkers and some lifeguards rolling by and waving.

There is structure all over this section. Going to take quite a few trips to fish it all. We nailed a bunch of small critters. No grinners or big rays, but I know they are out there. It's an AM spot only, but with the exception of the hike back, pretty F'n cool.

If anybody wants details on the spot, PM me 8)

I've tried a couple of new spots lately.  Mainly because the usual spot hasn't been producing. I find it fun to explore new places, but always second guess myself wondering what I'm missing at the old spot haha!

Eric H

Did you get a new black mustang?

I saw the long rodder license plate parked in front of the Longfin.

I was looking for you inside but don't know what you look like.

BackBayMan

Damn Eric, would have loved to met you in person. Yeah, upgraded from the 12 to a 16 'Stang with a few mods.

I look like a short fat old guy with grey hair. If I'm at Longfin M-F, I'll be in a suit and tie. Yeah I know, but it's a living. If it's on a weekend then I'll be wearing my normal ratty-assed fishing clothes ;D

What were you doing at Longfin? I thought you were LA based?

Chip wears many hats, for sure.  The last time I fished with him, he rolled up in his new mustang, got out of the car in a suit and tie and did the reverse superman and turned int a fish bum after a quick jump into the telephone booth!  lol

Nicely done guys and the best places always take the longest to get to.  We have a few spots that are just a lot of walking and wear you out.

Well done Chip and keep the -1 fish coming.   ;D
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Eric H

Nothing wrong with a suit and tie brother.

Believe me if that's what payed my bills, I'd be wearing one too.

Mon thru fri I'm in blue jeans, a carhartt shirt and covered in dirt :D

I'm there once or twice a week. Funny they all know me by name now ;D

The red head employee, Eric is an absolute genius when it comes to fishing. I always talk to him.

Don't get your reels spooled by Ruben, or the dorky kid with glasses.

Now I know what to look for when your there.

Oh and I'm in Anaheim at the moment. I hate it here but I'm Stuck because of work.

BackBayMan

Eric, looks like we're going to hit the AO at the Big Pond again Saturday AM if you want to come down. PM me and I'll give you details.

And you might be able to smell my new 'Stang now too. Had 8 beers explode in my trunk yesterday :(

Let's plan something another time 8)
