The last time we got together at the bay looking for Mud Marlin, I thought we put the lowly round ray as a minus one fish to join the Thorny Back ray in the minus fishes.

We had to decide where we were going to fish and made our choice to try the front end of the bay.  I was stoked to see someone I knew fishing there with his kids as I had his Bat Fight shirt and PS shirt in my truck for months!  Pinoyfisher (Mike) was soaking for a few hours without a bite.  It was great catching up with him, but he had to get the kids home before heading back for an evening session with some buddies.

The tide was super low and the minute he split, the bite picked up!  Nothing huge, but anything at this point was good news besides the bonfire.

Steve got a Sand bass to start the flurry.

I followed with a nice male Horn Shark.

Steve got a round ray and I volleyed with a Shovel Nose.

His penis was popping out.  lol

Steve found the female horn shark that was probably cruising with the male I caught.

Needless to say, we had few bites after this and spent the remaining time down at the fire keeping the chill off.

Mike, hopefully you are stomping the big game tonight and post up a great report.  It was slow after you left, but we had a lot of rod shakers to go along with the fish we hooked.

Until next tide, may you catch the fish of your dreams!  2014 is almost over so get your ass out there!   ;D

No respect for the backs of thorn. Shame they are a great kelp simulator. Nice looking session as always, have yet to even bag a horn shark.

Looks like I didn't miss much tonight, at least y'all had a fire and didn't get rained on.

Just my luck, I leave... you catch. It must be stench of skunk that's been surrounding me for a few weeks now >:( I'm so due!

We posted up in the back bay for nada!! We had the chance to make a move, but my Weber bonfire was already roaring and keeping us warm, so, we toughed it out. Should of went with plan A...

Mike...brought the skunk to the back bay with him.  ;) J/k

Look forward to the next time to soak some bait. I'll bring the short rod to target the silver next time.

I'm standing firm on a round ray and thornyback ray being -1.  Everything else is +1... except a real trophy which trumps everything else and you can call it whatever you want.  LOL

Steve wants to keep the round ray at +1...  I see nothing "positive" about it.  :o ;)

In the interest of compromise I propose assigning the lowly round ray a value of zero.

I think that is fair enough and a very good compromise.  I'm good with that and we can make this official?
