No details if it was cut open after it died or that was the reason for its death, but hopefully it wasn't just killed for its teeth.
It could have been a few scenarios, but not a good look to say the least.

No idea about the jaw, but I'm guessing the liver oil ended up on the black market.  Sad for sure   :'(

I'm sure they plucked the teeth for necklaces or something for the tourists and a souvenir.
