I've been working on the house non-stop this weekend trying to get projects done that I was hoping to do for over 10 years.  Surf was up, and for the first time in 20+years, have MLK Day off.  I decided to maybe take the boat out today, so I plugged the battery charger in to the boat and tried to get a few things together, but the garage was a mess with all the wood and tools from the housework so I decided to just get ready in the morning.

I didn't get a wink of sleep.  Not sure what my problem is, but I'm pretty sure it's all work related as my brain won't quiet and I cut out 90% of my usual alcohol consumption, so I'm not passing out as usual.  I saw the batteries were still at 25%, then realized the extension cord wasn't plugged into the wall...  UGH...  It must have gotten unplugged with all the power tool rotations going on the last few days.  Well, I still have some more touch up work to do, so I decided to just work the shoreline for a few hours.

I got down to the bay and threw the spook for 1.25 hours since it was high tide and I wanted a Corvina pretty bad.   Not even a follow...even in all the old haunts.  Oh well.

I switched to a swimmy and worked a high tide spot.  There was lots of bait around, but very few hits.  I got two hits and two bass in the next hour of casting.

I was ready to call it quits and texted Dave and Roger the report as I was at least 2 for 2.  Then I miss two hits back to back which brought me back to .500....

I snagged some grass and as I was reeling it in, realized it was grass, with a little halibut attached!  hahaha, I never even had a clue I even had a fish on the line.

I rolled down the shore a bit and finally got 4 more willing bass.

Most were okay fish, but I did get a few nicer grade fish..

The last fish of the day actually ripped out some drag and was quite a fun fight on 8# test!  Legal Spotty!

The f@cker clamped onto my thumb good and gave a big shake.  It's been a while since I had one do this to me.  LOL

Well, that was it.  Home by 10:00 and had a decent morning of shore hunting.
Thanks for reading and I can' wait to get the boat out again.  This work thing is getting in the way of the fun stuff.   ;D

I've been a little out of it still. Haven't had a good night sleep in a few weeks.  Sorry boss, hopefully I get my sh!t together soon. I'll try to remember and call next time.

Just rattling your chain. Dave's ahead of me. I haven't even fished this year.

Tidal waves? Sunday AM in Mission Bay the tide would fall and rise about 6" every 5-10 minutes. More noticable towards the mouth. Worked the surf late AM and found myself walking 15 yards forward then rushing 20 yards back. Actually same exact scenario I found myself when I was surf fishing when we got hit with the tsunami from the Chilean quake.  ;D

Bummer on the extension cord, still looks like a fun outing, them spotties are a kick on light gear 8)Hopefully the Tsunami pushed the 55'' Bats into the Bay ;D ;D
