Pulled the Trigger

For 4 years or maybe even 5, I've been wanting a bigger powerplant on the back of my boat.  Finally I decide to pull the trigger, but motors are really hard to come by and it's about a 6 month wait from the day you order a new one.  Used motors are in such high demand, that they are almost the cost of a new motor on certain hp models.

I reached out to a Merc dealer in VC since they apparently had a brand new 115 Merc the literally just got in stock for their spring delivery.  I put a deposit down on it and by the end of the day, they had people trying to outbid me for it. Jeez.

Called up my Merc Dealer down here and explained that I can't wait 6 months or more to get this motor and asked if I can pay them to install it and I'll buy any particulars off them that is needed and they obliged since 6 months from now the local offshore season is over.

Only issue is my soonest date I can get an appointment to install the motor is June 7th which I locked in.  In other words, I'll finally have the power to pop up on plane when needed!

Holy Crap!  As I was looking up my motor online to see it again, I realized the price jumped $3,000 from the price I locked in last Thursday!  I just checked a few other sites with stock on hand and they were all about $2,000 more!  WHOAH!  I'm really excited about this upgrade!

Currently have a 60, but new motor is lightest in it's class so only 100 more pounds for an extra 55 horses. That should get me on plane in a hurry when needed or just to pop up on plane with a full tank of gas, bait well, and crew

Nice move, and it is pretty damn quiet too. I had the 150 on the Pontoon and always had to look to see if the motor was actually on at idle cause it was so quiet :o Congrats on the upgrade 8) 8)

Papers signed and date set for install...

I'm hoping to have an epic year on the Curmudgeon with the new powerplant, but she'll have to share time with my buddy's boat as he wants to get some serious offshore trips in also this year.
