Yesterday I decided to brave the cold and run a few dropped baits with a buddy. An hour into the first soak, around 4pm, I got a screaming run on a suspended bonito head. Whatever it was only snagged the back half and spit the hook when I tried putting the reel in gear. Another round of drops and a good two hours later we finally connected on a decent soup fin. After cranking the fish into the surf my buddy went to drag it up with waders on when all the sudden the soup freaks out and starts zig zagging up and down the beach. We chased it around for another 5 minutes before we saw a large shark breach right behind my soupfin. Must've been a huge 7 gill because the bite marks on the soup were massive! This all happened in about 4 ft of water. Luckily we were able to land the soup even though it got a good chunk bit out of it. One of the craziest things I've ever seen happen at the beach.

That would have been awesome to see in person, keeps reminding me that everything in that ocean is trying to eat each other.  Congrats again my friend

I've never been able to post videos on the board but need to figure out how.

I've had quite a few soupies and even some Sevens grabbed on the way in and it always amazed me.  Nice catch and great picture also!  That is one fatty for a 65"!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
