Fishing with Mom and Pop (12/19)

Lots going on with my folks here and trying to get everything wrapped up at work.  Took Monday off to fish with my folks and do some whale watching.

No whales around, but it was flat as can be and cold as hell!



Last time my father came out fishing with me was in SD bay a decade ago.  Last time before that was probably 40 years ago.  (He's a golfer)







My father got the first $1 for the first fish.  We had to run to a few spots as they weren't cooperating everywhere, but after we made the move to JL, things picked up. 









They were battling back and forth, but mom was definitely out catching dad and she let him know.  My dad also caught the smallest.

















They caught about 2 dozen, and we release about half that were able to swim off.  Then they started poking the bear saying I had no fish while they were catching them all.  I grabbed the little iron that could, and first two fish were nice sheepsheads!







Second one was a little bigger.





With a quick smile, I returned to my deck handing duties.  We put 15 in the box and released the rest before taking a cruise of the coast.







Well, we called it the day and my folks had a blast.  I think my dad is done with fishing for another year at least.
